Look forward to meeting you 83riderpgr in May.  Some of us (no names) need to be reminded alot!  Keep asking any questions that you may have as there are alot of folks on here that will give you great advice.  You are going to have wonderful memories come June!  Just hold on to your hat as it will be blown away at times, Just ask Too Tall when you talk to him, he knows all about that!    You will be taken back many times on this ride and see things that you would never expect.  As we get closer to time you will find that this forum really gets hopping.  Lots of good fun here and lots of good advise, but come May we all put on our Mission hats and do what we need to do to make it across out great nation!  Welcome aboard!

GATOR-WHO KNOWS !!?- WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND STRONG , I DID TRAVEL ALOT .  "WHO !!! KNOWS !!' if your my son !!! do you pick your nose , wipe your behind with your left hand and think your younger then you really are ?? then it could bEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!hahahaha--any thing goes. my son in Dalles,Tx.is 6 ft. 4 inches tall.

I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE CAMPING ALONG THE WAY TO D.C.IM A GOOD CAMPER AND LIKE IT,WHEN I WENT TO STURGIS THIS YEAR I CAMPED FOR 11 DAYS AND LOVED IT. BUT SETTING UP AT NIGHT  AND TAKING DOWN EVERY MORNING ,IS THERE TIME TO DO THAT ?? NO COOKING IS THE SECRET ,MAYBE COFFEE AND NOTHING MORE . ? EAT OUT I GUESS !

I think we got up and started breaking down around 5:30 each morning, loaded up the bikes and headed toward the morning rendezvous.  Each morning the bikes would assemble in a big parking lot- it takes some space to fit everybody in.  We would line up in a double row behind the pole with the number for our platoon, then go find where there was food being served.  In 2010, breakfast was served every morning, often by volunteers who came really early to the hotel or maybe a Legion Hall to do that for us.

TODAY I SIGNED UP FOR THE SOUTH RIDE ,PAID MY $20. AND GOT A PAID UP NOTICE. GEE AM I LOOKING FOR NEXT MAY!!!. GOD WILLING I WILL STILL BE HERE TO TAKE THIS CHALLANGE. I STILL AM A LITTLE DUBIOUS ABOUT THE CAMPING SITUATIONS. MAYBE IF I GO TO THE TRIPLE A AND GET A BOOKLET ON CAMPING ACROSS THE NATION ,THAT WILL HELP ME TO DETERMINED THE CAMP GROUNDS IN THE CITYS OF STOP OVERS. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS BEFORE ?LET  ME KNOW ,IF YOU KNOW.

83riderpgr.............I will be on the SR starting in Grand Prarie, Texas (formerly Weatherford).  I have hotel reservations from there to DC.  If you decide you need to sleep indoors along the way you are welcome to share the space.  It will be my personal donation to make sure you are able to make it ATW.  I do not smoke.  I do travel with a very small, very polite Service Dog.
