Gary Burd 9:21am Sep 4

Just got off the phone with Essy - Agitator's wife - Agitator had the sleeping medicine reduced last night, heart rate went up, immediately they gave him medicine to slow it down and will leave him asleep until that does not happen. They are coming in today to change the port - to keep from it getting infected. Please keep him in prayer - today surgeon was still optimistic just said it would take more time but it is wearing on Essy - please lift her in prayer for peace and strength to walk through this with Agitator. I assured her that we were praying, I will ask our M25 folks to go see her and I will be in El Paso next week.

Prayers offered, Pneumonia is a nasty thing, and for the weak( recent surgery) it is worse. let's keep the prayers going upward and our fingers crossed. keeping him asleep is a good thing, allowing him to rest, which promotes healing. our pt's always did better under those conditions

A week ago on Monday he had 5 bypass surgery.
Today the pulmonary doc said it is time to wake up, so they took him off the sleepy meds. Then they took him off the ventilator. Guess they had a bit of a challenge when this started today, but this eveing his heart and his blood O2 levels are doing good.
Please say a prayer for Richard... as he told Essy, he has something left to do, why else would God have let him get thru the motorcycle accident during RFTW 2011 nearly unscathed?
Say a prayer for Essy too... she is holding together, but this two week trip has gone much differently than anyone had planned!

A friend told me: God has a plan, and ours doesn't matter! Well Sir, please take care of our friend and brother Agitator!

Went up to see Agitator yesterday afternoon. He was sitting up an talking. Asked how you doing Sailor.......yeh yeh Marines are the mens dept of the Navy dept, but as weak an helpless as he is, he's more sailor material than Marines. Had a great visit with him an Essy....still unsure of when he will be out of ICU, still has lots of wires attached, but he is onhooked from all the fluid lines etc. He is in great spirits smart as$ as always, although his male nurse is X Air Force and is keeping him in line. Doc's say no reason he wont be up and riding soon. He is still planning for RFTW 25. Wont make Kerrville but small price to pay.
Not saying prayers still arn't needed, but things are really looking up.

UPDATE on Agitator..........Talked to Esther this evening, they are moving the "Sailor" out of ICU to room 222. They have had him out of chair and standing, no walking as of yet, but pleased with his advances.....Still not sure how long he will remain in hospital. Keep the prayers coming for him and Esther.....
