Electronic gizmo that will track your progress on a given route.  Do a google search on Spotwalla.com, will give you an idea of what it entails.

If someone is thinking of purchasing a SPOT get the SPOT 2 not the one that links to a cell phone.
HarleyRG the Spot will let my friends know where I am during this ride since I will be gone almost a month. It anso has a button that can send a preprogramed message and also a SOS button that dials 911 and gives the GPS point of the emergency.

At $100 to buy and another $100 PER Year - I think I will just trust the ole fashion way,, either call, text or let them guess..

Now, if I was out hiking or off the grid - maybe then but not now....

Ride what a great thingymagie!  I will give to my family to monitor our mission until we turn back in TX.  Then I will watch the rest of you complete the mission.

Fallout this is why I posted the link.
I will turn on the SPOT today for a trip to Denver and back so people can see what the track looks like.
The track will be active for about 5 days then it is removed.

If you travel alone out in the wilds, they work were phones don't.....  they are nice for tracking but great if something happens, just press a button and the alarm works no matter where you are....
