We have one man in Taliban custody right now, Sgt. Bowe Robert Bergdahl.  Captured in Afghanistan in 2009, he is still being held by the terrorists in the Afghan/ Pakistan area.

He has made one escape attempt, but was recaptured.  Remember him in prayer if you do that, and I have a patch available in the classifieds under the Sidewalk's Biker Boutique thread.

It is why we ride...

Freedom. It seems to frighten a lot of people, but I am sold on it.

Unless things change, Sergeant Bergdahl's parents (Jani & Bob) will be guests of Rolling Thunder this year. As of now Monica Cash and another member of RT NC Chapter will be escorting them throughout the weekend. They will be at the H-D dealership on Saturday after some interviews and riding with RT National on Sunday. On Sunday they will be staged up near the cage.

Having pictures and keeping him in our prayers feels like too little a gesture.  Why is he still being held captive?  If I was in his position, I would want to know where the cavalry is.  There is NO reason why this soldier should be a POW.  We should have gone in to go get him 01JUL09.
