Cash, I almost cried from reading some of the posts here. As this will be my first time ever to see the wall or Arlington Cemetery (guess I'm a home body) I may fall apart. This will be especially memorable for me as my son is also riding. My father, ( Lewis Shirley Moore, Marine, WWII, Guadal Canal, Okinawa, Iwo Jima) God rest his soul is also riding with us. Thanks, and God Bless

Sloride, I am also an FNG, and I understand their will be a lot of support to help us through this.  I may bring a dry towel from the motel.

Chopper, Sloride, RFTW is a safe place to grieve and mourn.  It is a safe place to tell your story.  Part of the mission is to promote healing.  Your healing.  It is an honor to be part of a family that understands and wants to be there to support YOU!  I am still learning more about my trauma and how to grieve and mourn. But this I know, there will be family there to help us all on this journey.  Welcome Home.

No worries Sloride -- you will have plenty of folks with you to provide support, or a hand up if needed.  Welcome home, welcome to the run..

I am a FNG, too.  I don't think you will be the only one that will need a towel and I bet a lot of folks will need them.

You have to have the rain gear on to keep it from raining.

FNGs (and the rest of us), if you don't tear up every day, you're not doing it right.  This is a time to let the emotions go, knowing that your six is always covered.  We're all brothers and sisters on the Run.

I hope to do more, but if my only contribution as an FNG is to prevent rain, I can live with that. I've never owned rain gear but now I do.

My bike (Harley) broke last year on the way to join the Run.  The same part which broke the year before in Las Cruses and caused me a six hour delay.  I now have a totally new exhaust system.  Bike is in the shop getting new tires and final check before I leave this year.  I feel like an FNG all over again.  The butterflies have my stomach permanently upset.  See everyone a week from tomorrow.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Travel safely on your journey looking forward to meeting you all in RC and along the wayHeart
