SHEWOLF,

You're not an FNG, but you probably have some good tips for the new FNGs.
My intent is to share the knowledge and communication.  I may be an "old-hand" at the run but I learn something new every year.  I just do not want the annual pre-run reunion to turn into a party for old-timers.

Understood.... and I will do what I can...as always with a sense of humour...lolWink cant help it... its who I am...

The biggest tip I got for them is right now... is this will be the ride of your life.... Mission, sites, people, and your new family... absorb it all... and welcome home
Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation. Thanks SheWolf

The pre run run worked for me as an FNG last year. I know that those there were mostly in the reunion mode but I went with lots of questions and lots of apprehension and all that went away after meeting everyone. Different people will walk away with different experiences but for me it was very helpful. I let Crosswind know about the run and his only question was when and where so looks like he may try to come. For those of you that do not know him yet Crosswind is my Brother, not blood but still my Brother and he will be my passenger this year ATW in the trike platoon. You are all going to like Crosswind but have to warn you that anytime he is around there will be a crosswind to deal with. (literally)

Dutch,  Always for the FNGs.  and seeing old and new friends too.  Checking Hotels in the area and all have raised prices. Seems that all the good ones are over a hundred a night for weekends and the only Crackerbarrel is in Shreveport Next  to  the Fairfield Inn.  Rooms are $104 but might get a group rate if we have a large turnout.  Never stayed there but reviews look good  Just an early suggestion .

NIGHTTRAIN,

Contact "SPARKY" and coordinate the hotels.  She is working this also.
See what you two can work out.  We may end up going back to Texarkana.

Its "SPARKYS" decision.

As a FNG last year,  I walked away from the Pre-Run with a lot of understanding as to the way RFTW operates and what the Mission is about.  We will extend a very warm welcome to all FNG'S that can make it, and answer as many questions as possible. Dutch and the gang made it very  informative and fun at the same time this year. Hope to see as many FNG's as can make it and welcome to an amazing family.
Note: Although "Raven," has lost her Big Stick, she more than makes up for it with HUGS........

I'm glad to see so many chime in here that were a recent FNG. Part of this reunion is for us old-timers to socialize and see friends. Mostly it is about the new people.

There are two main goals:

1. Allow potential FNGs and confirmed FNGs a chance to ride with us and check us out, meet some of the ones they have "met" online, and ask ANY question that they may have.

2. A chance to check out our equipment and have time to make any adjustments or repairs that may be needed.

Often questions don't get asked in today's world because the person may think they are the only one that doesn't already know or such. Ask any questions you have. There is no silly or dumb  question. This is a group that wants to help in any way we can. Many of us probably had the same question at some point.

We all add or tweek things on our bikes. This is a chance to test those new highway pegs or that new backrest. Last year Sparky had a clutch go out on the way to Texarkana. Without this pre-run trip, that may have happened on the run. As it turned out she got it repaired, made new friends in the process, and had zero problems on the run.

Some have RFTW on a bucket list but are unsure if this is really for them. Others want more information about RFTW. This is a chance to settle that doubt one way or the other, get answers, meet new people and have fun all at the same time.

This is a smaller group but the ride is similar to what you will experience on Run for the Wall. If you are considering making the Run, or know anyone that might be, PLEASE JOIN US. This trip is for the FNGs first and oldtimers second.

We pick on each other and tease just like brothers and sisters. The only difference is we didn't grow up together. I need more brothers and sisters.

Again, it's nice to see last year's FNGs checking in and posting on this.

Ride Safe.

Gentlemen,

You are correct and I should have emphasized that more in my opening post.  This is a great opportunity for FNGs to get to know us, ask questions, and learn about how we do things.

I am waiting for a few more people to chime in on location and then I will start getting information on hotel rates.  Information will be forthcoming soon.

Thanks!
Sparky, SSIGS

Until they all come home.

Sparky,  Anything I can do,   let me know.  It does look like Texarkana will be less expensive than Shreveport but not a lot from what I've found out.  Guess we wait for the vote and go from there.
Do you have my e:mail and phone #?

Although I am an FNG and this will be my first run, I would vote for Shreveport.  I have enjoyed previous visits to Shreveport and it certainly has a selection of things to do.  However, I will be appreciative of where ever we go.  I am looking forward to the ride and experience of meeting all those who attend.  A special thanks to PaPa for allowing me to ride with him.
