Yes, the CDR's usually do stop in CC to fuel up & take a break.   Your estimated time of 1100 sounds pretty well on the money.   they tend to roll into Odessa around 1 p.m., though I don't know if they'll pick up any riders this year or not.    Keep in touch with Dutch, since he's "the leader of the pack".......  LOLStar
You will have a great time & ride with these guys & gals---it's a good time to get into the RFTW riding mode, yet still be relaxed enough to get to know & have some fun with everyone.
Wicked & I will surely miss the "infamous" ride out, I assure you.     Don't know what I'll do without a CDR 2012 patch...  Cry

Mojo,  Don't you mean the CGDR Patch?  With the Ladies leading this year they should also get to design the new patch.

A little CDR History ...................

"Cowboys Desert Renegades" or the CDR was actually first formed in 2008.  It was formed in honor of Roger "Cowboy" Mead, Route Coordinator in 2008.  I served under Cowboys leadership in 2008 as a Road Guard.  That year I left a book entitled "Cowboys Book of Rememberance" at the Vietnam Wall honoring Cowboys year as Route Coordinator and his long service to Run For The Wall.  Every rider that year inscribed a message in the book, or left a momento in the book.  In that book I gave a brief explanation of what the CDR is, and will continue to be.  A commemorative first year one time CDR patch was issued in 2009.  A matching rocker has been issued every year since.  I believe my friend "Cowboy" has more than earned that distinction.

In 2010, due to medical reasons, I lead the CDR from Las Cruces to Phoenix.  However, the name was not changed to Dutchs Desert Renegades.  The beautiful desert run to Phoenix from Las Cruces was, and still is, the idea of Roger "Cowboy" Mead and it is my intent to continue to honor Cowboy even if I am the only lone rider on the route, and I am the only one to wear that years rocker.

"Cowboys Desert Renegades" is not just a name, nor is it just another patch to adorn a vest.  To me, the name represents leadership, strength and a strong desire to complete the mission year after year after year.  Every year he has honored the riders by organizing the La Postas dinner in Las Cruces.  We are all the beneficiaries of his hard work and the respect he pays to every rider that makes that long, hot ride to Las Cruces to meet him, and he has asked nothing in return.

I have absolutely no problem with another group forming or what the name is.  We are all free to do as we please, but "COWBOYS DESERT RENEGADES" will remain in tact as long as I can swing a leg over a motorcycle, and make that beautiful desert run to Phoenix.

That is just my personal mission on the way to Rancho.  Nothing more, nothing less.

I am wanting to ride WEST with the CDR if that is alright with you veteran
riders and participants, I am a FNG and would like to join up with you and
the group as you pass through Colorado City, hopefully the CDR will be making
a fuel stop here and I will be permitted to join in.

TOAD6301,

No permission is needed.  We will stop in Colorado City to pick you up.  Doesn't matter if we make it a fuel stop or not.  The FNGs are the most important riders because you make the run what it is.

Not to worry ....... we will pick you up in Colorado City.

Dutch,

I will be in Midland the day before to load up Crosswind's stuff since he will be flying into Rancho. I would love to join up around Midland or even Odessa if possible. I would think you would be looking for fuel by Midland or Odessa or I could just pick you up out on I20 if you are not stopping.

Hey Ya'll,
I caved and started begging for a ride. Reading all of the posts, thinking about last year, and missing everyone has made me realize that I will be kicking myself in the heinie if I don't at least try to go. I will regret it terribly. The Run has gotten into my blood and infiltrated my being. It's a good thing to suffer from. So, if I can find a ride in Rancho, is there anyone I can hitch a ride with to RC? I know now what to expect, what I need and don't need, and how to be better prepared.

I need the feeling I had of seeing the people on the overpasses, the comraderie and hugs. The Honor of being with fellow Veterans, from all conflicts. The Honor of meeting Gold Star Families who have lost so much.

For any FNG's that read this post, this will be a life changing experience. Be prepared to cry, laugh, ride until muscles you didn't know exist hurt, and meet people who are simply amazing. This is something you'll never forget, and it WILL get into your blood. I promise you that.
Currently known as "Chickie" :-)

Thanks Sir Dutch......... I agree with Sparky (omg I say that) all in good fun.
It is too bad the Boss lady can't join us.....although with our motley crew she might fire us all or go back to KY.

You know CCDR (Cowboy's Cowgirls Desert Renegades)  has a nice ring to it......Evil SmileTongue

But bowing to the man that named it orginally CDR  it is.
