Possible OD on the vitamins. For me I will not take my regular Multi and just go with the EcoDrink that has similar vitamins plus electrolytes. Some vitamins are not water soluble and can be toxic.

OK, opinions about the efficacy of this high-energy drink are all over the board, and were rendered by around 14 people while there were 210 views. Soooo, there appears to be some interest in the availability of the 5-hours. Therefore, Mojo & I will be carrying a small supply (3-dozen each) available for sale at $3.00 to those who favor this choice. If demand exceeds our supply, we will, of course resupply as we cross the country. As stated in the original post, all proceeds will go to The Run OR Wounded Warrior Project. No further feedback is needed. Thanks for your responses and input.

Stating that proceeds will be going to the Run OR Wounded Warriors, pretty much tells me that the Run will see little of it. What do you say we all bring something to sell for a profit and see what it does to the Run. VVA785 donates use of a van, gasoline, trailer, food, water and staffing without cost to any rider or concern for profit on the Central Route; to me a much noble cause than selling high-energy drinks.
Maybe a little more discussion IS neccessary.

Concerning RFTW seeing any money, this may have already been mentioned on a previous thread but I will ask. How does one make a donation to the hydration trailer? Or do you just make a donation to RFTW and the funds are put where needed? |

Redcatcher & Shadow I agree with you both. Great idea but there seems to be a little difference of opinion. I would rather make a donation and Bring my own energy drinks. Thanks for the insight.

CommoDog. Not sure how to make a donation in advanced. However, there was a donation jar on the trailer for the Central Route last few years. Good folks, water, drinks, fresh food and snacks really hit the spot in between legs. One of the things not expected, but much appreciated.

This discussion has gotten way off track. I had a simple concept to make some $$$ for RFTW.
I first proffered the idea of the SR hydration trailer selling them to help recoup the expense of running that endeavor - rejected.... I was told that nothing is to be "sold" from the hydration trailer - the drinks and snacks offered there are free gifts to the riders from Gary Burd's church organization that operates the hydration trailer for SR. Understood............. I then proffered the idea of the SR merchandise trailer selling them - also rejected - "no food or drinks" are sold from the merchandise trailer. With that I was told if I wanted to sell them to my friends, that was my business, but RFTW would not be selling them. Clear enough..................& OK by me. So, that's when I sought input from RFTW riders just to see if there was enough interest in this endeavor to make some $$$ for RFTW OR Wounded Warrior Project. I'll be doing a little trial run with this idea, and if it has merit, it will show itself.........if not, then so be it.... Quoting "Ten Bears" --- "That is all I have to say"

CommoDog, when we all get to GP and you join in, you can contact Shepard he is the head of the chaplains and is the one that would be glad to take any donations for the hydro trailer. He may point you to the person to see as well.

Nighttrain...When someone makes an independent RFTW decision based on 14 responses and 210 views without the blessings of the BOD; it doesn't make sense to me when we already have hydration trailers in place that need donations.
Riders, if so inclined; please make donations to your Route designated Hydration team. Just saying....

I have one last comment/concern: What if one person (while riding) has a negative reaction to the 5-hrs energy drink while some leadership on the Run know that this is being "sold" by a participant on the Run? Seems to me it places the entire RFTW in jepordy. I stongly suggest BOD review on this matter.
Sorry for the rant...just seems to rub me the wrong way. RFTW must continue the Mission.
